eBook production and the best tools for the job

eBook production can be compared to a content supply chain. Most organizations will have a a mixture of content targeted to a print channel, e.g. Word documents, PDF files, InDesign documents, and graphics. Only through labour intensive conversion could an organization retaining these formats adapt existing content for the Web, eBooks, mobile applications or other purposes.
