It has won awards (even Oscars were involved) and it offers a complete environment for rotoscoping and compositing artists to work their magic. But it lacks a direct integration with Final Cut Pro X or even the latest version of Motion. CoreMelt solved that problem by embedding the mocha tracking engine in their SliceX product.

CoreMelt SliceX brings mocha planar tracking to Final Cut Pro X

IT Enquirer - Covering digital publishing, DAM, CMS, Web CMS, social media, video production... -

One of the major problems with creative work in a large organisation is to get the approval from all parties involved, as well as knowing which version of a project is the last one. If you don't have a system which handles this correctly and efficiently, managing creative content such as marketing collateral and promotional imagery and video, becomes a mess. Deadlines will come and go and costs will skyrocket. The solution could be online proofing aka approval management. ProofHQ is an online service that does just that.

Approval and proofing across file types with ProofHQ

However, in some areas the old Logic Studio still beats Reason 7. One major feature that I find lacking in Reason 7 is the ability to synchronise music with movie/video in the app itself. In all other areas, I find Reason superior to Logic, even in the quality of some of its samples.

Reason 7 music production, Propellerheads’ best version so far
